Water Facilitator

This free service provides technical expertise to construction and land development professionals, supporting projects at every stage from initial design through to completion. It offers personalized recommendations, an independent perspective to guide decision-making, and the sharing of best practices and field experience, whether for building projects or public space development. Support is provided by phone, email, or directly on-site, depending on the specific needs of each project.

Water management, a challenge for our cities … and opportunity for reinvention

As cities face the growing scarcity of water ressources, and the increasing frequency of climate-related hazards, Bouygues Immobilier has developed a water management strategy in 2025. This strategy is built on two pillars: reducing water consumption, and ensuring sustainable, integrated stormwater management. This latter pillar is based on the implementation of systems aiming at zero runoff from the site during centennial rainfall events. To define this strategy, Bouygues Immobilier relied on the expertise of the INFRA Services engineering firm, following a four-phase methodology: the definition of strategic guidelines, the redaction of seven feedback sheets drawing on thirty years of experience with exemplary projects, the creation of a guidebook targeting operational project managers, and the rollout of a training program aimed at multiple positions in the company. This collaborative approach to strategy building was also displayed at the Sibca trade fair with the launch of the "NF Habitat" certification"Water» profile. The Kipolis project in Tours, the first project targeting this profile, offers a concrete illustration of this ambition by integrating optimized stormwater management, increased vegetated surfaces, and an agropedological study - demonstrating the water–soil–vegetation triad at the heart of resilient urban development.

Supporting co-owned properties in their greening and rainwater harvesting projects

The Paris Climate Agency today incorporates the topic of greening into all of its actions related to the environmental transition of Parisian co-ownerships: raising awareness of issues related to greening and soil de-sealing, engaging the public, coordinating professional sectors, and providing technical support to co-ownerships in their projects. Thus, the Paris Climate Agency assists co-ownerships in accessing the CoprOasis financial aid from the City of Paris, whether for preliminary studies or for carrying out works of greening and rainwater management. Since the implementation of CoprOasis, the Paris Climate Agency has reached nearly 3,000 people through around fifty events and has advised nearly 500 co-ownerships (representing nearly 30,000 homes) on issues of greening and rainwater management.

Maintenance of Green Infrastructure: Consider it from the design stage

Montreal has a combined sewer network with 162 overflow structures, resulting in significant discharges into the river. Regulations require that these overflows not increase, creating an opportunity to integrate green infrastructure (GI) to manage stormwater and green the city. From the design stage, it is essential to plan suitable street configurations, effective water entry points, and anticipate maintenance (responsible parties, frequency, resources). Choices should aim for efficiency, simplicity, and accessibility, avoiding overly complex structures. During development, solutions such as sedimentation channels, riprap, and sediment slabs make maintenance easier. Horticultural maintenance relies on an annual plan (opening, summer season, closing, planting) and strategies such as densifying plantings and using ground covers and grasses to limit weeds and erosion. Practical tools (checklists, best practice guides, plant lists, videos) support the teams.
