Acting on private property
The private sector covers 80% of metropolitan France, and depending on local authority regulations, it is difficult to require private stakeholders to manage stormwater at the source. However, some developers are aware of these issues and carry out exemplary projects designed to address stormwater management challenges. To highlight this, the CAUE (Council for Architecture, Urban Planning and the Environment) invites you to take part in a visit focused exclusively on private property. You will therefore visit a condominium and a residential complex in the urban center of Lyon.

A serious game combining computer simulation and role-playing, that aims to encourage local stakeholders to think about flood risk management. Their common goal is to protect a virtual city from flooding by developing the area using various strategies, including nature-based solutions. The computer tool allows players to visualize the course of the flood and assess its consequences (material and human impact). Performance indicators include risk management, social, environmental, and economic assessments.
